The Obama Presidential Center showcases the power of civics education through humor and digital learning in this engaging back-to-school celebration. Featuring famous educators and creators from the ATTN: Civics video series — including Bill Nye, DaSan Frazier, and Sophie Shrand — the program brings classroom content to life on the OPC stage. Keegan-Michael Key facilitates the conversation, adding his signature humor and perspective. A pre-recorded message from Lynn Ahrens, writer of the beloved Schoolhouse Rock classic, adds a nostalgic touch. Following the program, attendees gather for a back-to-school themed celebration to discuss content, practices, and what makes civics education inspiring for the next generation. Free and open to all ages.

The Forum Building is a vibrant community center that celebrates creativity and innovation. The Forum’s two levels are brought to life through power performances at the Elie Wiesel Auditorium, creative forms of expression in the Media Suite, and collaborative thinking in the Democracy in Action Labs. The Forum also features the Hadiya Pendleton Atrium, Tafari’s Kitchen, our Cafe, two courtyards, and one-of-kind pieces of art by Theaster Gates, Spencer Finch, and Tyanna Buie.
