Opening Day

June 19 belongs to everyone. The full campus — including the Museum, the new Chicago Public Library branch, Home Court, and acres of landscaped outdoor spaces — opens its doors. Journey through four floors of exhibits tracing the Obama presidency and the movements that shaped it. Take in sweeping views of Jackson Park and Lake Michigan from the free Sky Room atop the 225-foot Museum tower. Explore public art by Julie Mehretu, Maya Lin, and Richard Hunt. Grab a bite from Chicago's own Chef Cliff Rome. This is not a monument to the past — it is a living destination for anyone who believes something better is possible.
